1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
3/4 cup orange juice
Zest of 1 orange
3 eggs
1 teaspoon baking powder

Directions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract and orange zest.
- In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with orange juice, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
